Went to the casino last night after a couple week hiatus. Have been running bad so I took some time off from live poker and played mainly on the Internet. The casino was having a promotion giving poker players $200 every hour if they picked your seat. With only two tables running , my odds of hitting one were pretty good. When I sat down the table was short handed and only recognized one player. Over all the table seemed pretty weak with several calling stations with small bursts of action. I immediate livened things up with lots of pre-flop raising and re-raising anywhere I could. I won some decent pots from the calling stations and was feeling pretty good about my play..but then…. the table turned. One miracle one outer after another. Hey you need the last queen in the deck to beat me, well howdy do there it is…again. Well as you might be able to guess they didn’t stop hitting and I ran out of money. Didn’t get any of the casino promotions and went home very frustrated. I understand the theory of variance and realise that the bad players must win sometimes in order to keep them coming and playing, after all these are the players that make us money. Well all the good players can thank me for fattening fishes wallets, hopefully they will stick around long enogh to give it back.
