Played in the $60 buy in ( with optional re buy of $20) muti table Texas hold’em tourney at the local casino. Haven’t played in this tournament in months. Something else always seemed to be going on. It started with forty players on four tables, the blinds at 25/50 and 3,000 in starting chips. If you play in the live games before hand you can get extra chips for each hour but i wasn’t able to do this. I recognized several players at my table and it didn’t take too long to figure out the rest of them. Lost some chips before the break so I had to do the re buy which put me at 6,700 and below average. after the break i was able to rob and steal my way up to 20,000 in chips and into the top stacks. Then I lost a couple flips costing most of my chips. Were down to thirteen players at this point (pays out 10 spots) and I’m in desperate need of some chips. I find a couple opportunities to steal the blinds of the weak/scared players to stay alive long enough to get the the final table. I have thirteen chips left and by far the short stack. Two people get knocked out with in the first couple hands but i still haven’t played a hand. I get dealt what would seem to be a no brain-er all in hand of King Queen suited but notice a couple people ready to put some chips in , so I fold. Turned out to be the right move and another person gets eliminated. The next hand I get dealt Ace Jack of clubs and make my stand, going all in for my last eleven ( 500) chips. The woman to my left re raises enough to put anyone else all in and giving me some protection at the same time for which I thanked her. She had pocket Queens. Player 1 (A

): win 32.32% lose 67.31% tie 0.36% EV 0.325
Player 2 (Q
Q
): win 67.31% lose 32.32% tie 0.36% EV 0.675 I’m the under dog at this point but I’m still very much drawing live. Then the flop comes with two clubs and two low cards giving me all kinds of outs to win. Now I’m close to even money and really feeling good. I spike an Ace on the river and triple up. then I go on to win a couple pots uncontested to keep building my stack. I then knock out the former Arizona State champion when my pocket five’s make a flush hammering out his top pair which hit on the river . Now were down to three players and the stacks are all but even. One of the better tournament players suggested we just chop it three ways seeing as the top prize really wouldn’t be that much more then the chop, so we got $615 a piece.
